..my house burned down.
Well, the outside is still standing, but apparently the insides (and everything I own) didn't fare too well. My dog and dad are fine though, so I'm happy. Nobody in the neighbouring houses were injured.
It started in the garage and spread through the entire house within maybe three minutes. We were downstairs, and I worked out what was happening pretty fast. I ran like a girl, but I had the sense to grab my dog and some clothing made of wool on my way out, in case we got stuck in a flaming doorway. I cut my foot climbing a tree to get out the mailbox gate, while holding my dog, and in my underwear (still waiting on my selfless act of heroism medal). The territory blew up. So did some paint cans, and my bbq. The flames got to be another story higher than the house.
I can count my possessions on one hand: my laptop (rescued by my dad<3), my hiptop (which was handed to me by a very confused fireman, still working), one hush sound t-shirt, a pair of bonds underwear (yes, everyone in my street, and about 50 emergency response people saw me without pants), and my school blazer (yay?). The firemen pulled out some photos too, because they're pretty much amazing. I'd just repainted my room and got a new bed, and new carpet.
I'm at kate's. Wearing her clothes and eating her food.
They won't let us inside yet, but they said to be prepared to find that everything has been reduced to charcoal, and then been made soggy by the effort to put out the fire.
They're also treating it as a possible arson until they can figure out exactly how it started. I'm being picked up by a detective in a few hours to give a statement. I inappropriately geeked out a little when they asked my dad to sign a crime scene waiver.
My nose keeps bleeding and my throat hurts /whine.
